APEX Energy Teterow GmbH supports ThaiGer-H2-Racing Team from Stralsund

The common goal was a new world record

The ThaiGer-H2-Racing Team from the Stralsung University came first in the Shell Eco-marathon with its hydrogen - powered racing car in London. For the third time in a row the students won the European championship title.

The ThaiGer-H2-Racing team has existed at Stralsund University of applied Sciences for over 10 years. What started as a Thai-German cooperation (ThaiGER) has grown into an established team that has been the European champion since 2017.

Now the next big goal is planned: to defend the title again in 2020 and to break their own world record! In order to achieve this goal in the coming year APEX Energy Teterow GmbH was won as a strong partner. The company, based in Rostock - Laage, offers revolutionary storage technologies for renewable energies.

„Our vision is to provide and promote renewable energies flexible and to make energy available at any time" said APEX Energy Managing Director Mathias Hehmann. "We work very closely with the Stralsund University. So we are not only supporting the ThaiGer-Racing Team but also offer our know-how" continues Hehmann.

The aim of the competition is to design a vehicle that covers a certain distance with as little fuel as possible. The team had already won the European title in the past two years. This year they set a new efficiency record of 1083 km / m3 hydrogen and was thus the world leader.
